In early 2009 I had a great experience teaching a pre-school art class with my son. The children were 3 - 4 years old and so the goal of the class was to teach the very basic elements of art. We had a great time learning all about drawing, painting, gluing, pasting, cutting, color mixing, textures, lines, shapes... I just loved all the cute little kids and I had a blast teaching them. We had a fun field trip to an art museum and then I hung their art work all over my house for an exhibition night!
In the Spring of 2010 I had the opportunity to teach my son Liam's preschool class for a couple weeks all about a variety of artists and we completed some really fun art projects in their style. It was so much fun!
During the Summer of 2010 I taught another art class with my son. The goal of the class was to introduce the children to a wide variety of techniques and materials. The class was about experimenting and we did a lot of projects that allowed the students to have freedom of expression. The kids cracked me up with all of their little 5 year old jokes. They had a lot of fun and developed some great friendships in the meanwhile.
In Fall of 2010 I taught a group of girls in my neighborhood about acrylic paint and showed them how to do collage paintings. I also talked to them about art history. It was so fun to spend time with this big group of girls!
